STACY HOUSER - The Photographer

Driven by a love for wildlife, nature, the American West and Africa

I was raised in Kenya, East Africa. We lived in Mombasa - the coast; Nyeri - the foothills of Mt. Kenya; and, Kisumu - the shores of Lake Victoria. I learned Swahili at a young age and attended high school at Rift Valley Academy on the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley in Kijabe, Kenya.

Later, toward the end of the Apartheid years in South Africa, I worked as the director of a language and culture school in South Africa. I speak and understand SeTswana.

Throughout my life I've been surrounded by beauty in landscape and wildlife. I also have enjoyed the privilege of being intimately familiar with the fascinating tribal cultures in Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, South Africa.

I now reside in southern Colorado. I use my camera to to tell the stories of nature and cultures.   My photographs are visual storytellers.

I invite you to travel with me to the photographically rich game reserves of Eastern & Southern Africa. Or come let me give you a tour of the Four Corners area of the United States. My knowledge of the wildlife and the cultures will make you feel safe and at home.
